About

Socrates was once proclaimed to be the wisest man in Athens. He agreed on the basis that he at least knew he was ignorant (which no other supposedly wise man in Athens would acknowledge).

If this is the standard of wisdom, then I must be amazingly wise — the longer I live in this world, the more aware I become of my extensive lack of knowledge. It’s astounding how little one can know about the world — having lived in it as I have for 20 years! Of course, at least ten of those was spent fairly inattentively in worlds of pretend, and then the latter ten were spent in inattentive bafflement over the supposed “real” world (it has no wizards, apparently — I shall complain to management).

This is my attempt to verbalise my befuddled struggles to figure out the world. Wish me luck.

  1. Hi Kate. I’m really enjoying your blog so I would like to present you with a Sunshine Award! If you need more information about what to do I’ll be posting about this, with a link to your site, on 29th Nov xx

      • It’s very exciting 🙂 There is a certificate/button you can display on your blog.
There are a few rules (I’m not very strict about them and prefer to think of them as guidelines) involving posting about your win and choosing some blogs that you would like to give an award to.
There’ll be a link in my post (Friday I think) that should give you all the info.
Let me know if you need any more help 😉

  2. Told you I would check out your blog! 🙂
I absolutely love it, it’s extremely interesting to read!

      • Random is the best thing to happen to the world because it’s exciting 🙂
I’m still ecstatic from last night!! I saw you after you met John and Hank and you looked so amazingly happy 😀 I gather you had a good night as well then? 🙂

      • Indeed!! It was utterly fabulous. So exciting. And surreal, to see them in real life. And I was surrounded by some of my best friends for that whole day and a bit of the night, so it was rather wonderful in all.
